Hometown Debate Series 2024- State Superintendent Debate
The North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership (IOPL) is excited to announce the next debate in its 2024 Hometown Debate Series, featuring candidates for North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction. The debate will take place on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the East Carolina Heart Institute (ECHI) at East Carolina University. The event is free to the public. Tickets can be reserved in advance using this link.
The debate will feature Democratic candidate Mo Green and Republican candidate Michele Morrow as they discuss key issues facing North Carolina’s public education system, including funding, teacher retention, curriculum reform, and student achievement. This is a pivotal race for the future of education in the state, and the debate will give voters a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the candidates.
As part of IOPL’s nonpartisan Hometown Debate Series, this event is designed to bring important political conversations to local communities and foster informed civic engagement. Spectrum News 1 Political Reporter and Anchor Loretta Boniti will serve as moderator, guiding the conversation through critical topics of concern to voters.
