Spring Fellows – Weekend Five

In politics, as well as any public service environment, the role of the media is critical. We hear too much about adversarial relationships between the press and those in public service. Big mistake! They need you, and you need them! Developing healthy and respectful relationships with the press is essential to having candidates and their issues presented accurately. On Friday evening, we will hear a panel of media professionals talk about “How to Work with the Media”. We have representatives from both print and TV media.

After the panel, each Fellow will have the opportunity to be interviewed individually by a member of the panel. This is a wonderful practical application for all of you. No one truly understands the interview process until you have gone through it. Each interview will last approximately 10 minutes, and you will be interviewed regarding the office you are seeking. This is a great opportunity for you to gain a better understanding of how you can best work with the media to get the results you both want.
