Greensboro, NC – The NC Institute of Political Leadership (IOPL) announced today the resignation of Ross Harris as its Executive Director, effective May 31. The Board of Directors has begun the search for a new Executive Director.
“Ross Harris is leaving the organization having made a significant impact,” said Board Chair John Hood. “We thank her for her years of service and dedication to our mission. We wish her the best moving forward.”
IOPL is a non-partisan, nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate future political and community leaders in campaign strategy, ethical decision making, and governance. Founded in 1974, the organization has more than 1,100 alumni with 120 currently in elected office. IOPL also hosts the annual Hometown Debate Series as a forum for candidates and policy issues around the state.
“IOPL has never been stronger and I am confident it will continue to thrive under the leadership of a new Executive Director,” said Harris.
Harris joined IOPL in 2014 as its the fourth Executive Director. She begins her new role as Director of Marketing and Communications at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro on June 4.
