About the Event
Ready to Run® North Carolina is a one-day campaign training for women. Participants will learn from prominent elected and appointed leaders, campaign consultants, party officials, and policy experts.
This bipartisan program is for women who want to run for office, seek higher office, work on a campaign, get appointed to office, or learn more about the political system.
Agenda
12-1:30 PM Organizing Your Campaign: Choose Your Office & Build Your Team
In this workshop, you will identify which office is positioned to address the issues you care about and where political opportunities exist. Then, learn how to harness the community of people [you already know and those you want to get to know] who can help your campaign by voting for you, donating, volunteering, and joining your campaign team.
1:30 PM -3:00 PM Municipal Budgeting Presentation and Exercise
This is an innovative and engaging tool developed by the City of Greensboro to help public officials make strategic long-term budget choices and to help citizens understand the complexity of the budgeting process.
3:00-4:00 PM Panel Discussion with Elected Women
This panel of elected women will discuss their experiences in running for office, how far women in politics have come, and the remaining obstacles.
What did they face? What did they learn? What would they do differently? How did Their run affect their personal life and career?
